Well as time goes on it seems that the days get shorter and the list of things that need to be completed gets longer!
I apologize for the lack of updates and after the last few days I realize that I should be updating more.
I truly feel that there are things in life that happen for a reason, and some people are brought into our lives to serve a purpose. These last few months I have been struggling with my faith and how to continue to move forward with everything that life was throwing at us.
Yesterday as we were getting settled in for the night I was talking to a gentleman, come to find out he was a preacher. We talked for awhile and he asked if he could pray for Phoenix of course I said yes and by the time he was done I was in tears. (There is a lot more to the story but this is the major portion of it) I came to see some of what I was missing in my life and that was our church family. For a long time I have started to feel like this is missing, that the connection we used to have was gone. I know what I need to now do not only for me but for my family.
It was also brought to my attention that several people thought that something had happened to Phoenix because I had not updated, and for this I apologize. I did set up a private Facebook page that I can update on very easily from the hospital so please feel free to ask to join, it's called All for One! I will try to do more posting here for those of you that do not have facebook.
These last few months have been a huge struggle for our little warrior. Today we ventured to CMH and had some testing completed and saw ENT, CF, and GI. On a quick note, Phoenix is having episodes of low blood sugar that need to be more closely monitored and followed up on. So now we start the lovely finger pricks and will start seeing an indocrenologist. He continues to struggle with GI issues and we are switching to some new medications to try as they feel he has been on some for so long that they are no longer working. He is also be scheduled for a motility study, this is a different type of study and not like a normal study. It will be in the operating room, he will need to be put to sleep, and it will be more invasive. We hope that this will give us more answers on how to proceed and help Phoenix. We do know that this test may give us the answers to another surgery that may need to be completed. ENT clinic was found to be very helpful! They did a scope through his nose and into his throat. Oh wow the results. Phoenix is now being scheduled for surgery to help fix some things. All I can say is it is on massive overload. I know tonsils are coming out and he is having sinus surgery again. There are two other procedures being done but I can not spell them or say them, so until I can do some more research I do not want to say to much.
Dennis and I have both had to pick up part time jobs along with our full time jobs to help cover exspenses. I have been doing overnights to not let it affect my time with the kids, and Dennis is working on his days off. The older kids have been great at helping out around the house, but it is time for the cleaning fairy to find us soon! :)
Well that is the update for now! I will try to post some new pictures soon!
Thank you again to all that continue to love and support us. This year has been one that continues to test our family and our strength.
